Together NC held 10 town halls on the budget across the state in May and June. We heard powerful stories about the need to preserve public investments in education, healthcare, affordable housing, and public saftey from folks in Asheville, Boone, Charlotte, Winston-Salem, Durham, Pittsboro, Fayetteville, Rocky Mount, Greenville, and Elizabeth City.

One message was loud and clear at every location- our state leaders must take a balanced approach to the budget crisis and that means raising a significant amount of new revenue. Otherwise, we'll be left with deep and damaging budget cuts that will have devastating long-term consequences for North Carolina's children, families, communities, and economy.
